Cherry Creek Corridor Trail Enhancement Project
The Greenway Foundation is continuing to partner with the offices of Councilman Charlie Brown and Councilwoman Peggy Lehman, Denver’s Department of Parks and Recreation, Urban Drainage and Flood Control District, and the Architerra Group to relocate a section of the Cherry Creek Trail that will result in a safer and more enjoyable experience for the hundreds of daily trail users.
The new 1.25 mile long, 10’ wide concrete trail will travel from the existing pedestrian bridge at Place Middle School along the Creek, under Monaco Parkway, will utilize a proposed low water crossing to traverse the Creek channel to the north bank of the Creek and will then pass under the new Holly Street bridge and connect to the existing trail.
The conceptual design has been recently completed and the $1.3 million project is intended to be constructed in 2009 depending on available funding. For more information about this exciting and much needed improvement, contact the offices of the Greenway Foundation.
